August 16 at 14:32 I spoke with someone by phone. I explained the part and sent a couple of pics.
she said someone would contact me about part.
I haven't received a response. just this
Received incomplete order. Would not replace missing parts.
Ordered a ClosetMaid multiple shelf door hanger - not cheap.
Received an incomplete product with the word RETURNED covered in tape - clearly not a new item. The bars used to hang the shelves are missing, making the product UNUSABLE and USELESS.
Contacted Ames and was told it was too late to get replacement parts. NO REFUND, NO REPLACEMENT, NO APOLOGY.
Make sure your products through Amazon arent coming from Ames!!!

Consumer Support was the worst rep I ever dealt with in decades on earth.
Their plastic rakes I bet you are 5 year old could break. Used it hardly ever and it's missing two rake teeth. Contact them as they promise a hassle free replacement it seems and they give me the runaround and refuse to replace it. Has stickers on it barcodes everything.
It was even purchased and received from them.
Utter disgrace. With a million other companies on Earth I will surely choose them over these horror shows.

Verified Reviewer |My Ames Unionmade Lifetime Free Replacement Rake Broke
The handle of my Unionmade (Ames) rake broke from the brace. Since it is a lifetime replacement per the sticker on the rake I sent them an email with pictures and my information, I received a separate email asking me to provide the same information again and also a receipt from when and where I purchased it.
I don't usually save receipts for tools under $50, especially those that are lifetime replacements, and in this case, I hadn't. I had also owned it for almost a lifetime. I never had to show a receipt for Craftman tools.
That is why I bought them, easy replacement (not so much anymore).
Claim denied. I'll not buy Ames products again.

Put in a complaint about a part that was broke it on my hose wind and have not received anything in many months not happy with your company but it on Amazon cant use my hose because she said the pot was back ordered since March

In need of a part
I need the drum (part # 72496) for my Ames Hose Reel model # 241**** but its not a replaceable part. The lady was respectful and nice to talk too.

First of all, I am not a passed customer. Your customer service person was very friendly and helpful. The product that I was looking for is no longer available.
Poor customer service
A screw that holds the two halves of a pair of hand pruners got loose and the spring between the two blades came out of a slot in both halves. The spring is what creates tension and causes the blades to come open.
Below is the response I got from Ames after sending two requests for assistance and calling the "business support" line instead of the individual consumer line, which does not answer and says they will get back to the consumer in about 30 days. They didn't by the way.
"Thank you for contacting the Ames Customer Service department with your tool question. Although it looks as if it should be a fairly simple fix, I am not allowed to give you any further instruction on reassembling the pruners. I apologize for the inconvenience.
I would recommend taking them to either a hardware store or an auto parts store and see if someone there can give you advice on reassembly."
This is their "service" after a sale. I will never purchase a product in the Ames product line again.
Preferred solution: explain how to reassemble pruner with spring tension
User's recommendation: Stay away from the True Temper product line and any other product distributed by Ames.
